After yesterday’s cryptic tweet that teased a teaser for Onward, we now have the teaser that was promised by the teasing tweet. Okay… that’s enough alliteration. Anyways “Onward” to the trailer.
My first impression is that this looks extremely promising, however it does also feel a little unlike Pixar and more “Dreamworksy”, but that’s not a bad thing, as animation studios can sometimes become stuck in ruts and in recent years, barring Coco and Inside Out, Pixar has become known for their stable of extremely profitable sequels to original movies.
But it’s been previously stated by Pixar’s new Creative Chief, Pete Docter, that they will not be producing another sequel for quite sometime, and instead they’ll be refocusing on original animated stories.
So let’s get to this trailer, as the animation style definitely feels like Pixar, but the concept of a Suburban Fantasy World is unique and fresh, and almost has similar carrels to the world building of Disney’s Zootopia.
However, we don’t much beyond this synopsis at this time:
“Set in a suburban fantasy world, Pixar’s Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.”
And with a stacked cast of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer, this sure looks to be a very strong step in the right direction after Pixar releases the forth sequel to the film that started it all, Toy Story on June 21, 2019. But I guess we’ll have to wait until later this year to see a little more of Pixar’s Onward in a full trailer, as it’s set to soar into theatres on March 6. 2020.

May 31, 2019Link, Zelda, Link’s Grandmother, Sheik and Ganandorf could’ve been added to this movie since Sonic the Hedgehog appeared in both the first two Wreck-It Ralph films. Having mythology of medieval times in the modern world is derived from Brave, but very capable of causing the past to meet the future! Similar to The Jetsons Meet The Flintstones. My final story Time Shift will do the same. First Disney/Pixar movie to be released in Spring!

June 2, 2019Won’t this movie feature tall hills, mountains, grove trees and a castle? If it does, it’ll be a palindrome-like similarity to The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies.
