Director Tim Burton’s “all-new grand live-action adventure ‘Dumbo’ expands on the beloved classic story where differences are celebrated, family is cherished, and dreams take flight.”
The much-anticipated “live-action” reboot flies into theaters on March 29, 2019, but on Friday, March 1, fans got a new look behind the scenes of the family-friendly fairy tale:
Disney teases the story:
Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughingstock in an already struggling circus. But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits the peculiar pachyderm for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland. Dumbo soars to new heights alongside a charming and spectacular aerial artist, Colette Marchant (Eva Green), until Holt learns that beneath its shiny veneer, Dreamland is full of dark secrets.
The original animated classic, which debuted in 1941, won an Oscar for “Best Scoring of a Musical Picture” and was nominated for “Best Original Song” for “Baby Mine.”
And while we anticipate the end of March and the debut of the 2019 version of the film, Disney Parks Blog reminded readers that they can take in a sneak preview:
For a limited time starting this weekend, a sneak peek of Disney’s all-new grand live-action adventure “Dumbo” can be seen aboard the ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, as part of the Walt Disney Presents attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and in the Main Street Opera House at Disneyland park. Each theme park location will also feature a life-size replica of Dumbo, which should make for some really cute photos. Be sure to share them with #Dumbo!
