However, unless I’ve gone completely daft (thanks for the new word, Jack Kendall), there are some all-new scenes in this latest look at Captain Marvel.

And for those of you who were alive, yes that is Elastica’s “Connection” in the first few moments of this new look.

Beyond the vintage Brit-pop, there’s a lot to digest in this new look at the film.
A surprisingly cheerful Nick Fury, Agent Colson, a Nine Inch Nails t-shirt, and the aforementioned photon blast are just a few of the nuggets that make this look “special” and why I am up at 4:00 AM preparing this post.
Oh, and there’s Jude Law extolling the virtues of the Kree…
Yes, for those of you keeping score, it was a Kree zealot (shown early in the would-be trailer) that tried to destroy an entire planet in the original Guardians of the Galaxy film.
That same dude, Ronan, appears briefly at the beginning of the clip.
Beyond the nerdy tidbits, “Grunge is a good look for you,” made me laugh. As did Fury’s “Damn!”
But what made me most happy was confirmation — at least to these tired eyes — that there’s nothing straightforward about Captain Marvel.
Need more proof of that? Well, the good captain, Carol Danvers, is marching toward you with Ronan’s top henchman alongside and two warriors to her right
“Roundabout and roundabout,” indeed…
