What a busy day!
After this afternoon’s Star Wars TV news, Marvel has some copy of its own.
The Hollywood Reporter’s Borys Kit just posted:
The Vision and Scarlet Witch, one of the first series that Marvel Studios will be making for Disney’s streaming service Disney+, has landed a writer and showrunner.
Jac Schaeffer, one of the writers behind Marvel’s upcoming Captain Marvel movie, has been tapped to run point on the series that will focus on the two characters that are integral members of the Avengers. She will pen the pilot and executive produce, say sources.
Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to star in the series, reprising the roles they originated on the big screen.
Wow. Re-read that: “Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen are expected to star in the series, reprising the roles they originated on the big screen.”
For Schaeffer, the deal to run Vision and Scarlet Witch
I’ll be honest, all of this stuff attached to Disney+ has me shaking my head, not really allowing myself to believe it’s real.
Back in the day, I just remember being really excited to watch Spider-Man, Ice-Man, and Firestar on every Saturday morning.
Now, my kids will be growing up watching integrated television addenda to major league movies. Unreal…
But what do you think, True Believers? Is Disney going in the right direction with their streaming service? Are you excited about the prospect of The Vision and Scarlet Witch?
