So, while everyone was partying this month, Marvel Star Wars “Darth Vader” — in the book’s finale — dropped (or reiterated) some “impressive” information on the origins of the Star Wars Saga’s progenitor, Anakin Skywalker.
What continues below is ALL spoiler for the Star Wars Saga and the Star Wars Comics, so if you are averse to such things “move along.”

Still here? Good.
Watch this scene from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (Episode III):
Chancellor Palpatine’s manipulation of Anakin continues later in the movie.
Skywalker already surmises (and many of the Jedi assume) that he is “the chosen one” — the being who bring The Force back into balance.
However, the nature of The Force and his own ability to “stop people from dying” remains elusive to Anakin, who continues to
“I will quickly discover the truth of all this…” said Skywalker.
Unfortunately, Anakin Skywalker — the Jedi — never discerned the true nature of his birth.
However, his alter ego, the Sith Lord Darth Vader may have…
Using a special edifice on Mustafar (the planet where Obi-Wan Kenobi first defeated Anakin Skywalker, finishing the later’s descent into darkness), Vader enters a portal inside which he hopes to contact his now-deceased wife, Padme (who died during the birth of Luke Skywalker and his sister Leia Organa).
Still with me?
Check out this pretty concise synopsis of “Darth Vader 25” — a basic knowledge of the Star Wars prequels and Original Trilogy is assumed:
Now, this is NOT news to me, at least not in the way that “I am your father…” hit me back in 1981.
The way the opera scene was set up, George Lucas basically dared audiences to ignore the “I am your father…” moment between Palpatine and Skywalker.
To wit, after the media stir caused by the comic, Star Wars guru Pablo Hidalgo — from the Lucasfilm Story Group — chimed in with a now-rare Star Wars Twitter comment following some fan discussion of the revelation:
Now, as many of you know, why this created such a twitter on Twitter is partially due to the fact that novels (and other creative works) from the “Expanded Universe” were dubbed “Legends” by Disney during the company’s acquisition of Lucasfilm.
And, clearly, it’s also click bait.

Bits and pieces of those works ended up in the new Disney/Star Wars “canon” and this note — that Vader was literally and figuratively created by Chancellor Palpatine/Darth Sidious — was “confirmed” in the Legends novel “Darth Plagueis.”
Without getting too deeply into the whole EU vs. Legends thing, if you were paying attention it was pretty easy to believe that Anakin’s birth was managed by one or more Sith Lords.
Have a watch as Star Wars Explained tackles the question:
I think Alex and Mollie Damon from Star Wars Explained remain on point: I don’t believe we’ll ever know that Palpatine is 100-percent Anakin’s father.
But, is the theory “99 44⁄100% Pure” – yep!

Now, none of this is all that interesting to me beyond a possible set up for Star Wars: Episode IX; that and the further details on how completely Darth Sidious designed the downfall of the Jedi.
As Alex and Mollie discussed, and as many fans and content producers have speculated, could Kylo Ren make a stop on Mustafar — the planet where Vader’s castle was revealed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story — next December?
This fan and content producer certainly hopes so.

But what do you think? Let us know in the comments below…
