So, sometimes accidents are “happy” and you can file the confluence of last Friday’s weather, wind, and wandering under that subject.
Fresh off a visit to Universal Studios Florida (my eldest is a huge “Harry Potter” fan), we took an opportunity to ride out the East Coast storm in Florida and stay close to Orlando in Walt Disney World’s Pop Century Resort.
When the youngest fell asleep very early, my film crew (Jack, age 8, and Scott, age 6) and I, headed to Hollywood — Disney’s Hollywood Studios to be exact.
First up, the crew and I headed into the park, filming all the while to show Tweeps the sights and sounds of the season from Hollywood East.
I had seen many of these decorations earlier this season; in November when I visited “Eat to the Beat.” But the switch to a nocturnal habitat drastically turned up the holiday sentiment.
That tree in Echo Lake is gorgeous. Seriously. It’s the most beautiful sight and site I’ve seen all season. But I digress.
Then, after a kind Cast Member assured us we were in a pretty good spot, the Disney Movie Magic projection show surprised the heck out of all three of us (as we were geared up for “Jingle Bell. Jingle Bam!”).
My boys loved pointing out their favorites (and not so favorite) films in the montage. I was thrilled to see “Indiana Jones” make an appearance.
“Jingle Bell. Jingle Bam!” was — as expected — over the top (literally) and spectacular.
Finally, we closed out the night by (attempting to) avoid the crowd by making another tour around the Park.
