The page pop on the official site tells the story:
Hong Kong Disneyland re-opens on September 18, 2018. In the aftermath of severe typhoon Mangkhut, part of the park areas and facilities are suspended for repair. Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre is closed until further notice.
That said, the current pictures out of Hong Kong are worth a thousand words (of course) and the source of so many of the posts out there today seem to come from the Facebook of hkmsg.blogspot.com:
Scrolling through the cringe-worthy photos, I am taken with two things:
- How different these pictures are from the usual post-hurricane photos we see from Florida! I’m mainly thinking about the destruction of property here, including the downed lighting and fencing (and also noting we do not see any of the interiors of the park);
- And Hong Kong Disneyland Resort is currently planning to open tomorrow. Yeeesh…
Just by checking out the park’s extensive Weather Tips page, I’m inclined to believe the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort cast members are entirely ready to bounce back from the storm.
However, it certainly will be a long day of landscaping, cleanup, and repair for the good folks in Hong Kong.
