Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris is undergoing some massive changes in the next decade, that will be repositioning the park’s narrative from “Behind-The-Scenes” of Hollywood to immersing you into the World of the Movies. A transition which mirrors the transformation of Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World.
However, before Marvel, Star Wars and Frozen begin construction, we’re going to get our chance to enjoy some of the highlights of the original park, as our friend Cafe Fantasia on Twitter reported the following:
This return of Cinemagique from December 1st 2018 to February 3rd 2019, is puzzling but nonetheless welcomed all the same. As back in June, Disneyland Paris had a grand opening ceremony for the “Marvel Summer of Heroes” seasonal event, which saw the debut of the new ‘Marvel Super Heroes United’ Show at the former Cinemagique theatre. However the show touted break-through technological storytelling and required the entire theatre to be refurbished.
Since then the ‘Marvel Super Heroes United’ show has had some technical difficulties with certain live on-stage special effects, but this is to be expected with any new show, but perhaps the return of Cinemagique is a simple stop-gap measure until Disneyland Paris can iron out these issues for the next summer.
However, the last thing to consider about this announcement, is the time of the return of ‘Season of the Force’ at Walt Disney Studios Park, as for the last two years, Disney have operated a popular Star Wars seasonal event from February through to Early Summer, so maybe Disney are working on a new show for this newly technologically advanced theatre, as they may look to use it as a flex space location.
But either way you look at this news, it will be great to see Martin Short and Julie Delpy on screen together in this “more immersive” version of the previous attraction.
