Last night, Friday, August 17, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom opened the 2018 edition of their annual “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party,” and our friend Big Fat Panda immediately posted three videos from around the celebration.
“It’s early, but the Magic Kingdom just had it’s first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Pirates of The Caribbean has real live pirate actors looking for Gunpowder Pete on the ride,” explained Panda on his YouTube channel. “I did expect more actors than I saw (one on the ride and one in the queue) but they were excellent and added to the experience.
“Enjoy this quick video showcasing what is going on…”:
Panda posted his full ride on video of “Pirates of the Caribbean”:
Then, Panda headed around the corner and up the street to Liberty Square, where he encountered “Madame Carlotta.”
“It’s always [a] favorite to see Madame Rinotta and Madame Carlotta at the Haunted Mansion during the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World,” he wrote on YouTube. “Here, Madame Carlotta tells us the backstory of how Madame Leota (the floating head in the Seance room) came to be there, and how she is not so fond of her.
“Madame Carlotta also calls out Panda…” he added:

Being somewhat obsessed here on DSNYNewscast.com, we also noticed that Attractions Magazine posted a “video” of “Deep Space Mountain” — the blacked out version of the famous Space Mountain roller coaster attraction — complete with unique Halloween music.
First off, thanks to Panda (and Attractions Magazine) for the intense coverage. I enjoyed my experience at last year’s Not-So-Scary, and it looks like this year’s edition is even cooler.
I will say that I’d like to see MORE live pirates in and around the attraction!
